Breeding
In the spring evaluation 6 dogs from the
liter „A“ were acknowledged as „breeding“ (A…)
The details about this event we have already released on
our pages. The dog Atlantic owned by the family Kliment
in Slovakia met all exhibitional and health conditions to
become a breeding dog in his country. And with an
excellent result – see the certificate of cardiological
examination.
The dog Alister was made breeding in the
autumnal evaluation.
In May we tried to cover Amanda –
unfortunately unsuccessfully. It has bečíme a common
story in our breeding kennels to travel all over the
republic and in vain.
In June the bitch Abby was covered by
Apollo Ar Vlčí píseň, everything was OK but much to
our regret the bitch had not become pregnant.
The only dog from our breed was chosen to
cover a bitch - Andy (that was evaluated as the tallest
dog). He was supposed to cover Amanda Rose pod Štírkou
(Ing. P. Štechmuller). Unfortunately even now it was not
successful, this time, because of the bitch.
The other dogs are still waiting for their
chance… Personally, I must say, for me it is highly
embarrassing and sad! When I have to explain to the
owners of my ex-puppies that it is useless to phone and
offer their dogs for breeding to the breeders who feel
literally shocked by this offer and asking: What dog is
it? What Netlucké pastviny? How many titles do you have?
The Code? I am not interested in the evaluating code at
all … and this way they literally pin the dog owner
down the ground. It is hard to explain that their dog is
not horrible at all, and that just some people are not
able to behave themselves and politely say: Thanks I will
think it over or I cannot … But it would be too much to
ask something like that from former club fuctionaries ...
Much to the owners´ regret (Mr. And Mrs.
Landa) they have not been able to find a bride for their
Digger (our Dairbhre´s brother) in recent years. And it
is a pity that such a great huge dog and a perfect family
protector (he saved his owner from the attacker armed
with a knife); the dog that beats the myths about a
fearful dachshund on long legs will never infringe into
the breed. Face to face to a real danger all titles are
absolutely futile and only deeds count ...
On the basis of her exhibition success and
the excellent result in hip joint X-ray DKK 0/0 Conchitta
has become a breeding bitch. In September she was covered
by the imported off-line dog Druse de Ajlabara (3x BOB,
2x CACIB, 2x CWC,, the best club show dog in Hungary,
many times CAC etc.) owned by Mgr. Lenka Erbenová. They
are young and relatively inexperienced individuals, so
the negative result is not such a big disappointment ...
In breeding Afghan Hounds we experienced
both big enjoyment and grief and failure this year.
In January our bitch La toya was diagnose
to suffer mammary gland cancor. After a short hesitation
and some consultations we decided not to operate on the
tumour and let our breed progenitrix live till the end
without any trauma: the illness proceded quite quickly
and Toya´s life ended this July.
In May Frencis Čínské hedvábí was
covered by the imported dog Alphavilles´ Letter of
Amerika, owned by Mgr. M. Frolíková. The result …
again „did not fail“.
The breeder fate decided to show us the
dark side ...
The enjoyment from new „faces“, in
fact new muzzles, eventually came … we have imported
two individuals from the breeding kennels Sunnyside Lena
and Valery Balyk from Novorossijsk. When I look at
Sideshow Alibi (Bel) and her brother Silver San Dancing
Shadow (Sanny) I always realize why, despite all the hard
work – slave work, in fact – the Afghan Hound is the
most beautiful for me ...
 
Not so little ...
If only Roky and Darina did not
drag me through mud and puddles when trying to catch a
hare at our everyday walks and let me sleep later than 6
o´clock.
If only Chita stopped her
annoying barking between 22.00 and 01.00 at night ...
If only Amanda gave up chewing
all matrasses and armchairs and stopped chasing cyclists
..
If only Freni began finally love
my father who has been trying to make friends for so many
years ...
If only Bel – having freshly
bathed and dried did not wallow in the first puddle she
sees, and immediately stopped raiding dustbins and left
me more room in bed.
If only Odetta did not lament
whenever she dislikes something (which is about 50 times
a day) and did not have her biological rhythms...
If only we could bring up healthy
and beautiful puppies that would get to good hands...
And especially ... if only I
could, when evaluating the next year, write about those,
I dedicate these pages to, in the present time...
